almost wasn't sure i'd get anything up this week, been busy and whatnot, but 'tis the season i suppose; however, what i have here is the Early show from 10/28/78, and yes it is an audience source, but definitely do not let that stop you from downloading, it is a high quality recording, and you will certainly enjoy; one of the last JGB shows with Keith & Donna; it's a recent acquisition for me, and so i haven't given the show a real listen as yet, but every song is pure Jerry, including a pretty standout version of 'Mission'; and yet, the highlight for me in this show is the 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' ... Jerry reaches vocal heights that are emotionally rich with feeling, and when he cries out 11'30 in, "you know people, i feel like i must be knockin' on heaven's door," and the exultant cries from the crowd, well, whoa! that's the Jerry we return to again and again; in addition, check out Keith on the keyboards in 'Knockin' ... utterly moving and powerful; and to think that this source is only now coming into circulation after near thirty years; people, we are blessed; with thanks to Mark Severson and David Minches for getting this out; please feel free to comment on the songs; enjoy the show, enjoy the season, a joyous Christmas/Hanukkah everyone!

Arbuthnot: Thank you for the new addition to the collection you created for me. ..the "Keith" years are my favorite ...
Jerry and he seemed to be very much in synch during the Jerry Band tours. Thank you for keeping their legacy alive.

Jerry smoked more than too many cigarettes. We were told not to smoke cigarettes before the shows started in the Oakland Coliseum Arena! Then we watched Garcia smoke several cigs during the first set on stage. And more cigs during the second set - rules be damned. Personally, I was smoking weed myself most of the time...

yeah, i notice that it's a slow download, some file share sites are better at others with the bandwidth, but at least i was able to provide direct links with this site, and so no song and dance to get the music; the file i downloaded, at about 20kbps, played fine
